About the band
For almost two decades "HOGTRYCK" has been entertaining and doing gigs at birthday partys, wedding partys, society partys and coorporate partys.
You name it - we did it!!!
We started out as a corporate band at IBM back in the mid eighties and everything since then is history.
Even though we now a days are working at separate places the band 'HOGTRYCK' still exists!
We play many famous songs from the fifites, sixties, seventies, eighties , nineties and we are keeping the songlist fresh and updated with the very best of todays radio hits !
To put it short we represent contemporary dancemusic with a slight surplus of pop and rock.
The members are.
Bjorn Grenholm - Drums, lead and background vocals
Bjorn who in the daytime work as an IT Project Managemer has been in the music business for almost four decades !!
Over the years Bjorn has been doing almost everything between marching bands and blues but the genre of covers is what steals his heart.
Preferable 50's and 60's. He just loves to raise his deep voice to the tune of some Creedence or Wilson Picket songs.
Bjorn also is the drummer in the band Biscaya
Hakan Green - Guitar and background vocals
Hakan has his roots deep in the northern swedish musical style called 'proggen'. He works as a senior systems developer. He say he can do other things with Java than just drink it !?
Hakan is inspired by the big guitar heroes of today like, Gary Moore, Al di Meola and Eilert Pilarm. His footprints in the swedish record industry are significant.
Check your record collection for 'Sparen forskracker' and 'Val-81'! 'Tung Gung' was the name of the band back in the late seventies and early eighties.
The soft voice of Hakan could be found in the backing vocals of Hogtryck
Anders Ripe - Keyboards, lead and background vocals
Anders says he lack time to do this but he finds it so irressistible and fun ! Once he has dropped his tie and stepped out of his managment suit,
slipped behind his keyboards and played the first tune for the night there are no doubts left ! You can have a ball without the tie !?
The Tibble song contest winner of 1974 has developed his talents a bit during the past 25 years and today he do most
of the singing in Hogtryck. He makes astonishing imitations of Joe Cocker as well as Charlotte Nilsson
John Roxfelt - Bass and NO vocals
John is the only one in the band who also works with music in his regular work.....Well he works with computers in an organisation of musicians interests.
When Jompa (that's his nickname) is not fondling his five stringed bass he sometimes asks the audience for a dance himself !?
Jompa is the technician of Hogtryck and he's the man doing our mix (which usually gets the other members rather annoyed). Also Jompa has been doing his thing for a while
and if you read the backside of the cover of 'Spåren förskräcker' and 'Val-81' you will find he aslso use to be a member of the band Tung Gung.
Stefan Holmlund - Guitar and background vocals
Stefan just like Håkan origin from the very north of our country - Happy Hudik (Hudiksvall) to be more precise. Stefan is a graduate from the Royal College of Music in Stockholm. He is a teacher in music (Guitarr and Bass)- when he is not playing in the band. Stefan also is a a composer and producer. He splits the gigs brotherly with Håkan.
